Default Water Pump Weeping...

I just notice that I have a small amount of coolant coming from the water pump weep hole on my 1999 Sportsman 500. Any idea if the pump is going bad or just a seal? How big of job is it to change the pump/seal?

Sounds like the mechanical seal. If it is, it requires a special removal and installation tool. It may be best to take it to the dealer, unless you want to buy the tool.

Thanks. Any idea on a ballpark time frame on how long it should take them to change it?

It took them under 1-2 hours on mine. I have an 02. Was like 80 buckers total.
