Default Having trouble tightening chain

I replaced my front sprocket with a 15 and plan to get a 42 but couldnt tighten the chain enough yet.

i broke like 5 screw drivers! loosened to rear bolts and rolled backwards with screwdriver through both holes and nothing.

Any suggestions?

I got my magura hydraulic clutch level installed though, pretty sweet.

I also got my friend to weld a custom bracket for 2 lights from trailtech to go in the place of stock. Sweet!

there's plenty of travel to take up slack for a 14T even, your carrier must be stuck somehow. its aluminum spinning in steel so its not rusted together, you'll just have to figure it out. loosen up the two pinch bolts quite a bit, and try to gently pry the gap apart, and see what happens.

Yep tried the bolt loosening and prying apart the rear.

which way do you push it to get it tightened? backwards right?

And what can I use that doesnt break?

have you sprayed any kind of lube in there top help any? you might try a hardware store for some hardened steel bolts.

use the rod that comes in your tool DS kit. jack up the DS to remove the weight off the axle carrier. loosen the 2 carrier bolts all the way. grab the rear wheel with both hands and turn axle & carrier together to tighten chain. it could be slightly stuck, but should brake free.
