ok i know this is the yamaha forum but right now i own a yamaha and i guess i just feel like asking here. But i am curious. Can a z400 be built for speed. I mean like some major speed. I know u guys would suggest with going up to a 660 or the yfz450, but for some reason i find it more interesting to make a smaller engine into something that can murder the big boys. I want to make a machine that will surprise the hell out of other fourhweelers. And i am curious to know whether or not it can be done on the suzuki with...per say a 440 kit and other mods.

 

yes with a 440 kit, exaust, carb, filter, tall gearing, u can have it goin 90.

 

I would say not as much as the big boys, if you spent the same amount of money on each.

Top end is what my Z is missing.

 

Call Sparks for 4g's you will have one of the fastest Z's around or ne 4-stroke for that matter..

 

Sleepers are cool. But $ for $ and mod for mod against a bigger engine it is a losing proposition. Depends on how into it you are and how much you want to be different. Just remember that if the guy on the 500 or 660 did the same amount of mods he would still be faster.
