I have a '90 Mojave. My question is how do you know when you have hit top speed? I know this sounds stupid, but I'm always afraid that I am going to blow the motor when it really gets wound up in fifth gear. I always let up even when it seems like it's still pulling. I guess what I'm asking is, will it continue to pull until the motor blows up (redline limited) or will it flatten out when it reaches the top speed (drag limited).

Thanks for any input.

Also, what kind of RPM is the motor turning near top speed? I'd really like to hook a tach up but right now I'm just guessing at maybe around 7000-7500??

Your atv has a rev limiter that will not allow the engine to blow up if held wide open in fifth gear. Which means, you can ride wide open in fifth gear all day long if you want. I would not recommend this, but it can be done.
As far as rpm's at wide open speeds on a mojave. I would say somewhere around 7500.

I had no idea that there was a rev limiter. I figured I would have hit at some point.

Thanks for the info.
