I brought my son's 2003 lt 80 back to the dealer. This machine is 8 months old and is out of warranty.
We had been out riding and i thought he had rode over a tin can that is what it sounded like. He said no and that his machine just quit. I got it restarted and it sounded as if there was a chain was broken somewhere in the motor. he couldn't drtive it back home so we had to tow it. Well the dealer Informed me that somehow he had gotten a rock down in the fan and it tore off all the blades. Is this at all possible?? Ive looked at the microfiche on the intake and it looks like a rock would have a hard time getting all the way to the fan. Is the dealer pulling my leg?? Isn't it more likely that the screws that hold the fan on came off and ripped the blades off? This machine has not been ridden very much. He had gotten it as a christmas present and during our very long winter here in the northeast it would have been tough for him to ride in 2-3ft of snow. Any one else ever have a fan problem like this?

 

We had the fan fall off at a national once. "Loctite" is a must now [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
BUT it didnt break not one blade.
I get LT's w/broken fans all the time. ALTHO, ALL the blades broke is unusuall,I guess it could happen.
