I have a 450ES and the intake is under the front of the seat. The dealer said when your butt gets wet then it is getting too deep. I believe the intake is in the same spot on the Ranchers. I have had mine up to the bottom of the seat without any problem.

The deepest water that I have had my Rancher in got me wet up to the ankles so 4-5 inches above the floor boards. Mud only upto the floor boards.

I know thats not deep compares to others out there. I know that she will go deeper than I have had her.

I have seen them hit water holes and water cover the fenders completely, then the ride moves back and wheelies so the intake gets out of the water, and they make it to shore. I do the same thing on my Scrambler.
