Hey, I am curently trying to sell my 01 banshee to buy a 4 stroker. I am cursed when it comes to keeping 2 strokes running right, and the shee doesn't work well on the trails I ride. I want a raptor, but I don't know if I can afford one. If I can't get a raptor, I think I'll get a 400ex. I don' know how I would feel on the ex with lower power compared to my modded shee? Has anyone ever felt like the ex was underpowered for every day riding?

 

well, i'm wanting a 416 kit for mine, you will NEVER make a 400 faster than your shee (if yours is ported, piped, built) All i can say is "yours may be a lot faster but i'll meet you at the parts store"

Are you saying that the honda is more reliable?. I have had bikes from both brands, and I haven't had a problem with either. I am not exactly a power freak, so I think I would be fine on one. Especially after heraing a post about raptors falling apart!

 

You might want to check out a Z400. They have more power than the 400EX, but still, definately not as much as your 'shee. Also if you weren't really worried about cost you could check out the new Yamaha 450. One of my friends has one and claims he has beat everything he has raced (400EX, Z400, DS650, Raptor, and he claims a Banshee, but I'm not so sure about that[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] )

 

I hate it when I start to have some second thoughts on what I should get. jsut a second ago I read a post about all these people loveing there shee's. That made me want to keep mine! I would love the new 450, but I am only 14 and I ain't got nough money. I am only gonna come out of my shee with around 3600 to 4000. My dad thinks I should get something with reverse, but I don't think he'll chip in some cashe so I can but a z or kfx! otherwise, I'll get a 400ex, and mod it a lil!

 

If you could get your dad to chip in some money for the Z or KFX then that would be your best bet. It has more power, better handling, and reverse. So pretty much it is a little bit better than the 400EX in every category.

 

z400 and KFX are excellent quads.
