Default Stuck Carb Slide

Here we go. I was out for one last ride this morning before I installed my 39 PWK on the Xplorer. I just put a polaris orange primary spring in so it would run better with the pipe, and it was. I was really having a good time. We had about 8 quads and I was bring up the tail end, had been riding for about 30 min or so. We stopped on the trail waiting for some quads to get over some logs and when I went to move that was it. The throttle would not move. I started checking from the throttle down and it was moving just about a 16th of an inch. I removed the airbox to get at the carb and tried to remove the top of the carb and the slide won't come up at all. I can't get the top off of the carb to even get the throttle cable off of the slide so I can put my new carb on. Luckily we werent far from a road and I towed it home. I've never seen a slide stuck down but I was glad it stuck there and not wide open though the ETC probably would have shut it off ( hopefully) I got it home and in the gagrge and have not dug any futher into it yet. Its the first day of dove season and my birthday and I'll look at it later. I just wanted to come here for any advice before I tore into it, especially if the slide won't come up. How will I get the throttle cable out? If I had to do any prying on it and messed something up I have a new carb but I would like to get it apart withou damaging it. THanks in advance.
