04 Grizz clang!!
#1
This is my first Griizzly (04) and actually my first 4x4 so I need a little info! When rideing and using the rear brake(both hand or foot) I get a lound clanging sound comming from the front end!! Upon inspection I have noticed that the front drive shaft seems to be loose both at the engine side and the front transfer case side and I'm thinking that that is where the clanging sound is comming from! Is this a normal thing? I know I'm under warrenty but just thought I'd ask you guys because you probably know more from experience!! Thanks for all the input!!!

you sure it is coming from the front? I hear noises on mine all the time, something about the clutch or something on the belt drive? I forget exactly what it was, but it only happens when you hit the brakes.

yeah, is that coming from the front? The rear driveshaft on all grizzlies clatters to beat hell. Its normal, though it will scare you if its your brand new $7000 quad. If it is coming from the front, take that sucker back to the dealer and tell them about it.

Thanks for chiming in guys!! I'm sure it's comming from the front! Either from the clutch housing area or my guess the front drive shaft. When I put it up on blocks and test it it seams as if the brake stops the engine and when that happens the front diff. clangs as it stops almost as if it is loose or something! It's not a constant sound only the initial clang when you first hit the brake!!
