Default speedo is fogging on 04 sportsman 600

I get some fogging in my speedo and I am just wondering if anyone else is having the same trouble. Its not terrible but it is annoying. Warranty is almost up and Im not sure if they will change or fix it at the dealer. I thought I remembered someone talking about the same problem a while back and they said that the dealer wouldnt fix it. Any feedback is appriciated.

its from being in water or washing when the exhaust is hot, it vaporizes the water and it enters the speedo at a guage and is almost impossible to get out.

I picked up a new 700 last night and it had just come out of the crate in the morning. It has a light fog in it. Dealer said would clear which it did by the time I got home. I can understand it if hi pressure washing (which I have done) but this was new. I think they may have a bit of a problen with the seal. My main concern would be with long term corrosion of the electronics inside. I would still bring my concerns to the dealer, and possibly polaris.

They'll do it all the time. I had a '98 SP500 and now an SP600 and both do it. I've got some friends with some 500's, 600's and 700's and all of theirs do it to some extent. My 500 would fog up right at the start and then clear. But my 600 is just the opposite, it'll start out clear and then fog up as the day goes on. It doesn't get near as bad as the 500 did but it still does it and it isn't from water either. It can be as dry as ever with the sun shinning and it'll fog up some, it doesn't seem make a difference.

My friend's speedo just went out on his '00 500 from being fogged up all these years. That kills the AWD and the wallet, at $185 to replace. Sad thing is, the new one will fog just the same way. I'd say there is a problem.

Yeah mine started fogging right after I bought it. I never had it in water yet and I didnt pressure wash it. I have had it in some deep water since but it is strange, sometimes it does it, and sometimes it doesnt. Seems to me that when it is sunny out is when it does it more. Not sure why, I geuss the heat from the sunlight makes the water condence on the surface.
