Need help guys: Best winch, Ramsey or Warn?
#1
I'm disabled and can't get around like I used to. I ride a Honda 450S Foreman and the ability to "manhandle" that thing out of a big mud hole is now beyond me. I need a winch for back up. But can't afford to buy less than the best! Buy the best and cry only once as they say. Ramsey has a limited lifetime warranty, how about Warn? How hard are they to install? Can a broken down old man put one on by himself with just hand tools? Is it a big job? I need some answers here from you folks that know. You've never let me down before. Thanks again, Phil...

hello
from past experience dont buy a super winch or a ramsey . buy a 3000lb warn trust me you wont be sorry . i had a 3000 lb super winch and burned it up and had stalled out the 2500 lb ramsey on my foreman . the warm has been great i learned the hard way . if money isnt a problem get the multi mount setup from montana jacks so you can use the winch on the front or rear .

I have a Warn winch on my Big Bear. It's been through 7 years of mud, water, limbs, and trees and it still works like new. Doesn't look new, but still works like new.

i stripped a warn 2500 lb winch faster than a teenager at Marti Gra. i spent a little more money the next time and got a rule 3300. so quiet you cant even hear it run. all steel on steel internals. no plastic like some warn winches. the down side to the rule is it is physicaly a bigger winch. the mounting bracket puts it out front on some models. not sure about yours but mine is liquid cooled. i think your would be more inunder the quad. hope this helps.
