Hey everyone. My friend has an '01 raptor that has been ridden hard and put up wet. The tranny still works perfect though. So for 2 and a half years it has taken the abuse. With that much behind it is it likely that the tranny is good and it will hold up or did the '01 trannies manifest their problems at all stages of the game, not just initially?

The gears only have 3 dogs on them, and are made of a weak metal, they force against each other and break, but my trannies atill good knock on wood

hey you cant really expect a whole lot out of a prototype! i mean give me a break im sick of everyone saying 01 sux...they wouldnt have theres if it werent for it in the first place!

Nobody said 01's suck, they just had (have) a problem with their trany. That's da fact jack. I still have my orriginal trany and haven't had a problem with it. That doesn't mean that tomorrow it isn't going to detonate on me.

part of the problem is reverse gear.

Yah, I have heard about the reverse deal. Whats the story behind it? Does reverse on '01's cause them to fail prematurely and if so why?
