Hey Guys I have a question, For years know I have been wanting to buy an ATV.....I have some riding experience here and their but I never actually consitently rode an ATV or Owned one..But Know I am looking into buying one and want to know the big Question before I do, Should I buy a New Or Used Quad? and which one? My Stats are about 5'11-5'12,15 years olds, and about 220 lbs. So Please reccomend me a good bike and whether to buy new or used,also I prefer 4 strokes,(since 2 strokes are going to be finished very soon), and if the answer is used, where is the best place to get it at?Ebay,Local Classifieds, Online Classifieds etc.........THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

 

depending on the cash you got, you should go for the 400 ex, im also 15, and about your same size, and bought the z-400, but i have had years of experience on them, the ex is a little more tamed down, and would be a great quad.

You can go for either used or new, they are about 5 grand new out the door, and used you can find tricked out ones for that much, or stock ones for about 3500 depending on year and mods.

 

Well I also considered the 400 but tought aboyt its cons like no reverse,etc...also what is the normal/good deal price of a used 400 and not for one that is not to old maybe a 2000 model the most....thanks.

 

well you are right, no reverse was a big hassle for me on trails, and i love it on my new quad. If you want a used 400, 2000 or newer, going price, depending on hours and mods, anywhere from 3000 to 5000. I would look for around 4000 to 4500, and go with what fits you best, try to get one with less hours, newer , and that it was owned by a mature person who took CARE of it. But if you want reverse, for a good quad, i suggest the 350 yamaha warrior, reverse best selling sports quad ever, and a great value. used price for them is about 3000 to 4500, my bro just bout an 03 , and got it for 4200 otd.

 

ex!!! Plenty of power, and the reverse thing doesn't even really matter you're more than big enough to turn the quad if it gets stuck. Ex's are so much cheaper than the z, the z's are nice except for the 03' frames but you got to get pretty big air for that to come into play. And do yourself a favor and don't get the warrior, most outdated quad ever, you'll probably grow out of it pretty quick. In my opinion, go for a used ex, i've done lots of research, and think it's the best bang for the buck.
