Well, I think it boils down to what kind of riding you do. I have never ridden a DS before but I own the YFZ 450. I trail ride it just fine. No reverse is not a big deal. I had a KFX 400 before the YFZ and really didn't use the reverse that much. The YFZ to me looks like it would be a lot easier than the DS to whip around and to jump but I don't really know considering I have never ridden a DS before. The DS just seems a little on the big side. I would say ride both before you buy.

i just moved out here in lewisburg pa so i dont know ne 1 out here that rides .... will the dealers let me test drive? .... and i kind of came to the conclusion that it wouldnt be that big of a deal to pull 350 2 or 3 feet .... when i dont even like the reverse on the raptor ... im used to the old shift **** on my old warrior

I have to agree with you on this one blindside, I can move that thing with no problem. I'm out here in AZ and where I ride, reverse isn't really an issue. The only reason I bought the YFZ is because I want to get into jumping and eventually mx tracks and the bike was built for this purpose. Quads are a big investment, thats why I said you should ride one first but it looks like thats not an option. Well you have heard from two YFZ owners, now all you need is some DS owners opinion and you could decided from there. Good luck
