Default Auto or Manual?

i've been looking around for a while now and have decided on either the suzuki eiger 4x4 or the kodiak 450, i like the kodiak a little more for looks, features, etc. but i have never owned a belt drive and don't know many who do. i have a z-400, so the shifting would not be a very big deal, except on occasions when i had a passenger, plus i do on occasions get tired of shifting. also i hear about alot of problems w/ the grizz and since most of the magazines refer to the kod 450 as the grizz's lil' brother, are these problems family traits? and does the belt drive system heat up, how bad are belt drives about slipping, i don't ride very deap water as a general rule on my z-400 i never went above the nerf bars. i didn't buy a $5000 boat. i favor the kod 450, but also am looking at the eiger for the simple reason that it is a basic and simple machine w/ a auto clutch tranny, manual cable switch from 2wd to 4wd, no electrical solinoids to go out
just looking to see how most of you like your koiaks, from what i have read over the past 2 months on hear and other sites they seem to be pretty well built.
thanks,
Paul

The Kodiak 450 seems to be a very nice quad (although I don't have one). What would make that decision hard for me is the fact that the Eiger is almost $1k less which is worth taking into consideration unless money isn't an issue.

yes a $1k would be an issue to me as well, i can get the eiger for 4999 otd and the kodiak 450 for 5399 otd, so 400 isn't as big of a deal when you look at a $5000 machine.
sorry i should have said that before, thanks for the response.

Really??? $5399??? Man, they won't budge on the 450s around here! The Kodiak 450 is hands down a better machine. I would probably still get an Eiger but thats just cause I'm Suzuki bias.
