toy hauler owners, i need advice on generators
#3
I'm looking at toy haulers myself. We were just talking about going to the sand sport show and checking some out. Onan and Honda's are good the Honda is suppose to be real quiet. The generac's are not as good and kind of noisy. I was thinking of just using a portable, it would be real quiet but a bit of a pain and it may grow legs in the middle of the night.

are you refering to an RV generator or a portable generator???
If you mean portable for camping and youve got some $$$ go with a Honda or Yamaha.

I have a Generac 5500 built in to our Tahoe Transport. It runs very quiet and we turned on every light...microwave...TV..and DVD player and it never skipped a beat or bogged down. We run it at least 30 hrs. every trip out and never had a problem with it since we bought the trailer in 2000....

Harv- I have a 8HP portable lincoln welder that i use. It is not to loud and comes in handy from time to time. 960 dollars at home depot. I used a local 20 percent off cupon to get it for 768 and paid no tax due to "farm use" around the place.
