Default Kodiak vs Big Bear Top Speed

Still cannot decide between the Kodiak or the BB. What is the top speed for a Kodiak 400? I know the BB tops out at about 45 mph. Only concern about the Kodiak is belt slippage.
Thanks in advance!

Did you put any mods on your BB to get it to do 50 mph?

On belt slippage, just make sure your clamps are tight on your tubes or snorkle it if your gonna get wild

The Big Bear should do at least 55 when shifting right, there is no reason for it not to.

thanks guys for making me laugh . a big bear doing 50 or 55 is the funniest thing i've heard in a while. that would mean my wolverine can do at least 70.i have ridden a couple of bb's and 45 would be pushing it .i only got 54 out of my fathers kodiak 450. the bb's gearing is to low for speed but great for work.

I agree with wolv! The Big Bear is geared too low to get 50 mph out of it, and 45mph is pushing it. I have a 2000 Kodiak, and its been a pleasure to ride. Trouble-free, with no issues what-so-ever with belt slippage. We've ridden it in some extreme places and conditions, and I cannot find any faults with the Kodiak. My Kodiak has done all I've asked of it without a wimper or hesitation. Make up your mind Duckmeat, and get the Kodiak......you won't be sorry!

A buddy of mine has a totally stock BB and it tops around 43-45 mph, he is about 6' and 180 lbs.
