so you are a ricer. lol
get a 5.0 or some other v8. all of the rice cars sound fast but don't go fast. the only rice car that I would consider driving is an rx7. atleast the rx7 has rear wheel drive.

I would go with a Mustang V6 before I bought a new Celica or Eclipse (However I like the 2nd gen Eclipses just not the new ones) worst case scenario I would buy a Mazda Protege Turbo, those cars are sweet for a 4-door

Celica if you don't want to replace a cooked motor. The DSM's are well known for crank walk and they chew up the bottom ends on the 2nd gens. My buddy has taken out 2 this year and his car only has about 100,000KM (about 60,000 miles). He is building a 1st gen motor to put in it now. Good think the guy is a Nuclear tech and makes a crap load of money!!!!!!!! He spent a grand on a fly wheel for it....very nice car and VERY fast when he is not fixing it.

I would look at used E46 (current platform 3 series) BMWs. You're in Minnesota, but with a set of snow tires, they are very manageable, and prices are not outlandish for the driving enjoyment, if you consider the right years and engine sizes. Of course, I am biased. ;-)
If it's just between those two, I would get the Toyota as they generally do better in the quality ratings than Mitsubishi. Are you going new or used? That will give us a better price target to offer alternatives.
Warrior007 doesn't have a bad idea with the F150 - a relative just bought one, the rebates are insane if you go with a 2003. Plus then you can take your quad on trips.
