Hmm seems to me that there are some people in here that dont know all they think they know. 1st a 1st or 2nd gen Eclipse gsx will be faster than the celica on a bad day. And as for the saleen , I would put money that the gsx will beat you off the line any day, and as far as the quarter mile goes Ive seen them make it into the very low 9's. And crankwalk is severely overrated. All cars are subject to crankwalk eccept for rotary, granted there have been more cases of dsm;s with crankwalk but still only a very low percentage. But It really depends on what you are looking for, Good looks , slow = Celica, and Good looks , fast = 2g Eclipse gst.

I'd take a DSM anytime over a Celica, but you probably mean the new Eclipse which is completely homosexual. The V6 FWD cars are turds and have ZERO performance potential, but the 89-99 Talon/Eclipse/Laser can be one bad ****. My wife has a 98 Talon TSI with a nice turbo, 65 lb injectors and SAFC. It made plenty enough power to break a rod. Now it's waiting on the new shortblock with Eagle H beam rods and JE pistons so we can really turn up the boost and try to beat the car's previous best ET of 12.91.
If it ain't a turbo, don't waste your time on it, IMO.
