rpms go up when steering wheel is turned
#1
i recently got my polaris atp serviced and they changed the idle speed around some, now when i turn the wheel, the cord tightens and the engine gets more gas. in neutral the rpms will just go up but if its in gear it slowly rolls around the yard. is there anything i can do besides take it back to the shop?

rtellor,
If the idle is changing when you turn the handle bars from left to right you need to adjust your throttle cable. Its just down the cable from the throttle assembly. Pull back the rubber boots and adjust it, then turn your handle bars and make sure that there is no change in the rpm at idle.

Try to make sure the throttle cable is free all the way to the carb. If they pulled the tank, which you have to do just to change the spark plug, they may have routed it wrong. Play with it a little as you turn the bars to find the right spot for the cable to rest.

Like thay said its routed wrong. The same thing happend to my scrammy when I checked my plug, when I put it back together I routed the cabel rong just a slight miss rought will cause that problem. You could take the plastic off and check the routing but I would take it back make them fix it!!
