Default YFZ first time on dunes in Coos Bay...

Wow... I grew up in Coos Bay and used to ride 3 wheelers there, but it has been about 18 years since I did that. This weekend we took my YFZ with 9 paddle rippers down there and camped. What an incredible weekend. I only went out for about an hour at a time so my wife wouldn't get too lonely, but man the stuff I climbed was a dream. I could climb as fast or slow as I wanted and owned everything I attempted. Some steep, tight, twisty stuff through the trees and some monster dune climbs. There were sharp razors everywhere to jump. I need to work out or something, though, cause I'm feeling like I was chopping wood all weekend - sore and stiff. I did conquer an old nemesis, too. A steep bowl down into a lake - one way in, one way out. I rolled a 3 wheeler all the way into the water 18 years ago and this weekend my YFZ ate that bowl alive. It seemed untouched from 18 years ago, which is amazing out in the dunes.

Get used to it or go w/ a pipe, a properly installed 13:1 piston and YZ ex cam, then get used to that.

You got that right - that's my plan, but once you taste the power you can't help but imagine what that next level will be like. I keep saying that I don't plan to mod it for about a year, but I'm thinking that timetable may get stepped up if I get down there a bunch this winter - winter on the dunes is great, hardly anybody else around. I'll be looking to you for advice when I do get around to those modifications, though.

Yeah, we know that place. Me, 250r4life and two budies had to pull a 250r out by hand two years ago. My back has never been the same. But the good news is, we all have yfz's now.
