electric motor on cooling fan problem
#1
I have a '96 425 Magnum and the cooling fan won't come on. I am not sure if it is the motor itself of the temp sensor. Any suggestions on the 'easiest' way to troubleshoot which is the culprit. By the way, the electric motor is not siezed up since I can spin the fan with no problem. The over temp light on the dash comes on when I am working it hard so that is how I know there is something definitely wrong with the motor or temp sensor.

There should be a sensor in the bottom of your radiator that tells the fan when to come on.All you have to do is unplug it,jump a wire inbetween the two terminals that go to the sensor. If the fan comes on then the sensor is bad,if it doesnt check and see if you are getting fire at the fan with the sensor jumped. If you are then the fan is bad.On my Sport I wired a toggle switch where the sensor goes and I turn it on when I want to.Plus it will also come on when the sensor tells it .Hope this helped
