Default 2001 Sportsman With EBS Belt Change

I have a 2001 500 Polaris Sportsman with EBS. My belt blew and I have to put on a new one. I tried and am having problems getting the new one on. I read some of the old posts and see that there are different ways of doing it. I tried to open up the back pulley and am having a problem. I turn it one way and it seems to stop, I turn it the other way and it grinds, but it doesn't seem to open up. Is somethin messed up or am I doing something wrong? Any help anyone can give me to get this new belt on will be greatly appericated Thank You

put your atv on flat ground and get belt started on then roll your atv forward in N of course slowly around until belt slides on. This helped me popped right in place

The driven clutch is hard to pry apart but it does. I like lancesamuel technique of rolling it forward in neutral, I'll try that next time. Thanks for the tip.
