Was there an issue with RW CDI and starting?

I looked and can't find what I wanted.. Do I remember an issue with the CDI with an issue regarding charging or starting? I am just wondering now that I have the CDI and battery issues... I may be thinking about the 400ex I am not really sure.

MudStud,
Ok man, here the scoop. There have been no issues with the Ron Wood Racing CDI with regards to working with the 11.5:1 piston. Certainly nothing regarding charging. However, I did have an issue with my old Ron Wood Racing CDI working with the 14:1 piston. The timing is simply too advanced at idle to run that piston well at idle RPM. I tried it and found that, even with the choke on, the motor would simply dead ping at idle. That's kind of scary if you think about it. I don't know if other people had any problem with the same combination - I dont know of anybody with the same combination either. I do know there has been no changes in the power curve for the Ron Wood Racing CDI since its inception. I replaced mine Ron Wood Racing CDI with the Vortex and now it just purrs at idle. Its important to note that the power curve I chose on the vortex is the most advanced curve - and it still purrs at idle.
Curves that are too advanced on the top end tend to be detriment to running well at idle.

Good, I am glade to hear it's all good. I was just making sure it was not my CDI that was causing my battery issues. I just bit the bullet and bought the PC545 dry cell. Thanks..
