Default Bayou clutch slipping

Can someone please explain the procedure to adjust the clutch on my 96 Bayou.
It was slipping a little but has gotten worse in the last month or so. Any help would
be appreciated.

Default Bayou clutch slipping

KAWIMECH Could you help me with a problem I am having with my 2001 bayou 300 4x4.
It seems to have clutch problems. When hauling trailer or in mud or soft ground, when I go to shift it will usually shift inbetween gears or it would make the shift but would then fall back to the lower gear after a few feet. Also I cannot shift at all going down hills, shift lever will not move at all unless I put on the brakes to take the weight of the bike off the motor. she will also have hard shifting the first time I use it each day. Got any comments? I had it to my dealer 4 times when it was under warrenty but each time the said they could not find out what was wrong with it, and one machinac told me that the bike is know to have them problems and there is no fix for it. The warrenty is long gone now so I am going to look into fixing it myself now.

My Bayou 220 has similar shifting problems. When it shifts down a gear like you describe I've noticed that I have inadvertently bumped the shift lever. Even a VERY slight bump will cause it to downshift. My soloution is to make sure I don't hit it. As for hard shifting when there is pressure on the motor as in going downhill I just goose the throttle and it allows me to get the pressure backed off enough to shift. It's a hassle but I've learned to live with it.

hey...my kawasaki bayou 220 is having several problems. first the clutch is slipping pretty bad...i can fix that though. the big problem is the transmission sounds like its stripping out in 3-5 and slipping in 1-2. kinda like a screw driver stripping out on a screw. i dont have a clue of what is going on here. the part that is really confusing me was it was only slipping in 1-2 and only stripping in 3-4-5...it happened when i was in a field...not a bumpy place and i was goin up a very slight angle and when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd it was i like i held the clutch up (basically in neutral) and revved up alot( i held the throttle for one second expecting it to be in 3rd gear) can somebody help me...email me if you want to reply (so i will actually get it and so i will get a notification when you send it.
