I was just wondering which would be the best tire for trail riding, mud, fairly deep water, and some sand. There are so many different tires out there, it's hard to choose. Is it safe to put 25" tires on the scrambler or does it take away to much performance and handling? I like the idea of 25" tires because of higher ground clearance.

By no means am I being an A**, but use the search. Tires have been the hot topic as of late. I believe LoyaL started a Tire Poll in a thread about a week ago.

Steve Thompson ("myscrambler"), has 25" bearclaws all around and he claims his 500 (which is moded) is still very stout.

A lot of people swear that the bearclaw is the best all around tire by far.

Look around a see what you find, and if nothing suits you, bump this thread back to the top!

Hope to have helped

I purchased 25" Bearclaws and like the tires. I no longer get stuck on the river runs down the San Jacinto river. BIG difference in the stock tires! I ride in very similar terrain a few miles to the south of you (Conroe, Tx).
Chaparral Racing (Add in Dirt Wheels back cover) was by FAR the cheapest place to buy the Bearclaws. ! $116 delivered to the door for a pair of 25X12X10s.
Discount tire was the cheapest place to get the tires mounted.
Super swampers and ITP Blackwaters & Spider Tracks (they recently bought the molds from Dick Cepeck) are also nice tires and are worth considering.

I think you should stick with the 23 and 22's in the rear. 25 inches might be to big and heavy for a two strokes.

weedy,
I do ride on the San Jacinto river near conroe. I usually start out around the bridge on 242 right off of I-45. I plan on coming down this weekend and riding.

I like my Maxxis sur-traks.

They are awesome tires! Lots of tread and traction!
