Default Little fellow needs more speed

Hope you guys can help. I have a 2000 Blazer 50 by Jehm for my son, I have read many of your letters to people about the CDI box. I would like to know if anybody has any info or where I can look to purchase a box for this rig, the box that is on it does not have the green wire that is refered to by many people

Thanks in advance

The first one is the one that we got for ours... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2552560973

Make sure that yours has the wired connections rather than the one plug style CDI... they won't interchange, I don't think. It's located under the front fender on the left hand side above the carb.

Phat,

Your 50 DOES NOT have the rpm limiter that is mentioned in other posts. Save your $$ changing your CDI will not make a difference.

Instead, change the reeds, air filter, trans parts and/or cylinder and pipe.

I have been building these things for years, you can make that 50 run with most of the modified 90s.

That's probably true on that brand/model... on our Scrambler 50 teh CDI was a big limiting factor. When TommyTRex and I were setting up our Scrambler 50, all the other mods were worthless with out the new CDI, as it cut out spark before anything else stock was limiting it.

As for the 50's being able to hang with the 90s, I totally agree. I have sen my daughter hang and fend off 90cc quads, and blow away stock 90cc quads on her 50. I'm looking into the trans gear swap for our next mod on it... right now, she's pretty satisfied.

Yeap, Polaris and their "infinite" wisdom decided that they needed that throttle/idle/brake cut out and rpm limiter. What a mess. Fortunately there are only two machines out there with that silly system
