Default power vs gearing for 250R

Well I had a set up that was doing low 5.5's at the drag strip. Then I put on a really thin head gasket hoping for an improvment. Now im going mid 5.6's I guess it is from the lost top end from the added compression. My gearing was 14/40. Then I put a 15T front on and tryed starting in second with my 22 inch tires in my drive way. Yup it can do it pritty easy. So do you guys think if I left the gearing like that and had 20 inch paddles I can go faster than 5.5 because Its geared up even more now? Or should i just say screw it and put the thinker head gasket with old gearing back on?

It's funny you bring this up, I just switched to a high compression dome and even through my R runs increadible now, I feel I've lot about 1 mph on the top end.

You should be able to use more compression at the higher altutudes. Dont know where your at compared to sea level. I run a 13-38 ratio on my wife's 330R and it runs 5.0's. It ran 5.3's with a 12-36 ratio and the stock ported jug. But remember we are at 275 feet above sea level. We also run it on straight race gas and lots of compression.Bubba
