04.5 Sportsman 400 Tires
#1
I just got a 2004.5 Sportsman 400 with stock tires, and I got stuck in the mud the other day. I think if I woulda had some mud tires I woulda made it out. However, I don't want to have switch tires all the time. I drive on gravel, dirt, grass, and sometimes mud. I don't know if I'll be driving in any mud at all when I go out. I was wondering if there is a tire that combines the best of both worlds - mud and regular terrain? Any help is appreciated.

The Goodyear Rawhide is an EXCELLENT all around tire but unfortuately Polaris dropped them for the Carlisle tires. I have them on my Sportsman and they do very well in the mud. A set of Goodyear Rawhides or a set of ITP MudLites would be my recomendations.

I've got Titan AT489's. They seem to be pretty good tires, but I got bogged down yesterday in about a foot of mud. This is the first time I've owned an ATV, and it's also the first time I've driven in mud. My wheels just kept spinning down in that stuff. A foot wouldn't be too much for a 400 to handle with the right tires, right?
