Eye measurement or did you bring your tape? I am not trying to bust yer bubble but this is one of those subjects that opens the big cans of BULL$HIT. I personally have only cleared about a 30 ft gap give or take 5 ft. I like moderate jumps and steep climbs. I know a guy who broke both his wrists landing on a shale terrain about 50 or 60 ft on a raptor. I also have never jumped anything except natural jumps.

Im not BSing anyone, It was "scientifically" measured by taking long steps to equal one yard, so it might have been off a little, but i also broke my shock on it(look in my page). This is a jump at an MX track and it is huge. If it wasnt 80 ft then it was 70, next time i go, ill be sure to measure for an exact measurement. i can not see how he broke his wrists, maybe he needs more milk, lol, but anyway i didnt open this thread to say crap that wasnt true, maybe just unaccurate by a couple feet. If my digital camera can capture me jumping as fast as i am going, IF i go to the track, ill post up a pic.Ill feel like crap if it measures accurately to 65ft but i am near positive it will be around 70/80 ft.

I wasn't doubting you and I did see your picture of the shock. I was just stating that you had opened a topic for some BS. I tend to be sort of a person of detail when it comes to certain things. Of course I have stretched the truth to make my stories more apealing to the listening ear. Who hasn't caught the biggest fish ever and let it go so someone else could catch it too. That's what these forums are for. To brag about what you have accomplished. As for breaking his wrists I don't think it was a lack of calcium. He had jumped a small waterhole to land on an extremely hard surface that was actually on an incline (front wheels first). the impact of that broke both his wrists. Not compound fractures as you might be picturing but the wrist bones had brakes in them.

As for the detail part I was talking about. By reading your bio I can figure if you were 8 when you got that 95 quad that you can be no older than 16 or 17(which also is a bit misleading because of the fact you stated you were 10 in 99 only 8 months after you were 8 years old.). I also noticed your very impressive top speed on the banshee of 90.3mph. I also noticed the message under the picture

no, you arent seeing things, it does say 90.3 Max Speed at the far right, trust me, it will go faster.
I being older (at least 2x your age) might not be one to brag as much to say it will go fast but just accept the 90 mph as stated ( which is very impressive by the way). Although it is not important that you go any faster but I on other hand might think other people would think the same as me. That I might be stretching it a little because they can see the speed...

Then I come back to the subject of my first post. I wasn't trying to bust your bubble but if your gonna open up yourself for examination it will be criticized such as I have just proven. You had said 80ft then stated it would be off by a couple of foot. I made my statement which had made you think about what you had typed. That then returned you only doubting yourself and a more truthful statement which I can relate to.

near positive it will be around 70/80 ft.
Near positive is good for me. Congrats on your jump. It reminds me of when I was younger jumping my CR400 on the powerlines close to my home. That thing would catch air. Thats the one thing I miss about bike.Quads just don't jump like a MX bike.

Never jumped the quad. I've only riden it once.

On a bike, I'm not sure what the EXACT distance was. However, I'd say around 100 - 110 ft. Maybe more. Actually, probably more. Tabletop, 5th gear wide open on YZ250. The take off is long, so it sopped up some speed, so at take off it was probably more like half throttle speed in 5th gear. Enough air time to take a look around and enjoy the scenery. Fun times. But they are over now. I'll never do that kind of riding again.

I can relate DEMag.

Read my post for "Safer: Quad or Dirt Bikes???" My body has seen enough abuse for two life times. I like to jump my Raptor but usually not more than 25 or 30 feet depending on the type of jump. That seems to be about the distance I can go without bottoming out. I leave the crazy stuff up to the young bloods! My brother-in-law will jump his stock Warrior on things that I won't attempt....he is completely nuts like I once was! I have seen him bottom that thing out so hard I can't believe he doesn't snap it in two. But then he hasn't paid his dues in the ER either.....yet that is.

Yup. It will happen eventually. My insurance company dropped me cause of all the trips to the ER. They really werent happy when they had to pay for my knee reconstruction. hehe My company now pays $1300 per month for insurance on 3 people. Ah, the joys of riding. Thats why I bought a quad. They're just not as dangerous.

Very Nice Photography with the snow and truck. As for your jump You look to be one of those land lovers. My buddy has a VFORCE and loves to jump it. The group we ride with calls it the "Boat Anchor" because they way it lands.
