Do most people buy insurance on thier atv? Or is that mainly if you finance?

Default Insurance?

well i bought my quad up front with cash, 5 thousand otd, and i do have insurance on mine. I would never think of not having any on a 5 thousand dollar machine! i went through progressive, it costs me 80 dollars a year and that covers liability and theft, all you have to pay is a 500 dollar fee if something like that happens and you are covered.

Definately get insurance. Personally I wouldn't spend 5k on a toy and not insure it. First time you wreck or someone hits you it will more than pay for itself. Wife wrecked mine. I paid the 250 deductable and about 250 for my portion. Insurance paid the other 2500 plus. I won't go into the 40k worth of hospital bils her little wreck cost.I would be riding a wreck if not for it. Heard a story from a friend whos brother in law bought 2 quads. Spent like 10k for both. Strap or something broke and one went tumbling down of the road into a deep canyon. Well needless to say he is still making payments one both and the one is totaled. Be safe get insured. I do all my insurance on one policy. ( house, cars, boat, etc) Adding the Quad costs me like like 80-100 a year. Well worth it.

Insurance is always a gamble, most people wont make a claim. Remember what your economics teachers said? If the insurance companies could not make money off us they would be out of business. But I have to agree with the majority. Its well worth it to me also to be covered if the toys get ripped off or otherwise totaled. You can get different levels of coverage of course. I'd suggest shopping an independent agent in your phone book. I think we all assume you are not riding on the hi-way or streets and you don't have a license plate on the ATV. You would need more than just property damage coverage in that case and you would pay hundreds of dollars a year most likely for that level of coverage.

I have full coverage on mine. Still just costs me 80-100 a year. If you have an agent have him try to tie all your insurance needs together. Lot cheaper that way.
