i got home from work today, ready to start fresh and get the cv boots done after yesterdays hassle. i went to my buddies garage and he already had the one side back together. he said "i got the one side back together, can't get the shaft to pop out on the other side. i didn't want to break anything on it" so i tried, unlike the first side the shaft did not pop right out. i was yanking, and pulling, hit the back with a big malet. it would not come off. we even tried wedgeing a hydrolic jack in between the frame and the cv joint. still nothing. finally we had to take a dent puller, take two nuts, weld them together. then thread one end on the puller, and the other on the hub shaft, and really wack it. finally it came lose. guess what?? yep, snapped ring on the end of the shaft! oviously the ring must have been expanded alittle too much. now i have the delema of finding one of those little ring to go on the end of the drive shaft. this sucks!! so here i go for day # 4 on the rcr?cv boot replacement project. i really hope i can find one of those clips in the a.m.
