Default inside out..

if i put my front tires on with the inside out, i get a wider front end. should i see a better turning quad? is this hard on the front rims? i guess i will found out if the tires handle bad with the rotation the wrong way. i know that air stem clears the brake caliper.

you can get the tire rotation to be correct by swiching sides on the bike.. still leave them inside out, but switch sides.

Ride on.

If the valve stem is on the narrower side of the rim, it will hit the brakes.

the valve stem doesn't hit the caliper or rotor, it clears everything. why is it harder on the ball joints than normal setup?

Leverage. The wheel axis are placed farther out from the spindle(which gives you the wider stance). This puts more pressure on the ball joints and wheelbearings.

raptor guys do this all the time. It can't be no harder on the ball joints than throwing on a spacer.

You are 100% correct. They would put the same pressure if spaced the same. The ball joints/wheel bearings may be able to handle the xtra stress, i dunno(alot of people do it). Fact is, there is more stress there...
