i thought i needed a new clutch the other night we rode it alot and hard and the clutch started slipping but today i go out there to see and it works fine . Ifound it needed adjustment and a new cable . do you think i should go ahead and change the clutch or just leave it alone . i dont want it to get hot again and start slipping at the dunes.87 warriordg pipe

I have a Hinson basket and GYT-R clutches on a 686 Raptor. After it's good and hot, I adjust the lever until I can just barely shift into Neutral while the engine is running and it doesn't slip. If I adjust it the same way on a cold engine, it will barely slip at high RPM in 2nd and 3rd after it gets hot. A quick-adjust clutch housing is a great upgrade and not much money.
