Default scrambler rear shock is junk!!

my rear shock is is junk,i keep braking the spring retainer..the one in it now is the third one that broke..
what was polaris thinking when they made the retainer out of aluminum?how many of you have had this problem?i dont want to have to replace it evertime i go out for a day of jumping,so im thinking i should go with a works shock,or is there something better?does the works setup come with their own spring or do i need to use my own?thanks for any input..

Haven't had a problem with mine. Maybe you've got it set too stiff? Have you messed with the preload or the reservoir?

Mine is the same way and I haven't messed with it either. It hasen't broken yet but it has jumped threads and is crooked under the spring. But I ain't messin' with it till it does break.

I'm 240 lbs and I love to jump my Scrammy and have had no problems. I think you've got your spring way to tight for your weight. I'm only about a third up the threads on mine. If I were lighter I would need less tension than that. Next maybe your gettin too much weight on the rear when landing. Just my guess though. Let the spring out all the way, find out where it wants to bottom out at and put some tension on it. You just want to barely keep it from bottoming out on the big jumps and thats all.
