Default making a pvc snorkel for my recon. help needed please.

ive seen pictures of atvs in deep water and they have what looks like a pvc pipe coming out of the 4 wheeler and im assuming that its connected to the airbox and it keeps water from coming into the airbox when you are in deep water. i do alot of deep mud riding and creek riding in my recon so i was wondering how exactly would i go about making one of those things where they use the pvc pipe to get the air instead of the air coming from the air box. if i go in deep water will water come up under the lid and into the air box besides through the snorkel??

i'm not totally sure, but it seems to me that u could hook the pipe straight to the intake of ur carb and jus mount the filter at the top of the PVC pipe. if u go deep enough that u r risking flooding ur engine, incase the engine dies, or u get stuck and have to stop it, u might want an exhaust snorkel too. jus my 2 cents worth. good luck

get a long flexible pvc hose and a hose clamp, duct tape, and just attach it to your stock snokel tube. Thats what i did, went to homedepot. works pretty good. you can customize it any way you like or what suits your needs, but ususally not over the handle bars.
