I currently own a 2000 Kodiak 4x4 and am happy as can be with it. I am looking around now to get a quad for my dad and little brother. I got my brother narrowed down to a Honda Recon. I need your input on my dad's ATV. I somehwhat narrowed it down to a Polaris SP500 or another Polaris model that is recommended, Honda Foreman 400, or Suzuki quadmaster (500cc). We do trails, soft mushy mud with bottom, logs, hills etc.. Price is a concern, I would like to stay within 5500 but if its worth it, then ill look a bit past it.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know how old your dad is, but I would highly recomend a Honda Rubicon. I am 50 and love my new "Ruby" ! It is very easy to operate And handles beautifully.Your only problem would be price and availability. Good luck!

I and my dad went looking at all the big utilities and the Suzuki LT-F500 was $500 less than a Sportsman and the same price as a 00 Kodiak and would be $1000 less than a Rubicon. We do not seem to hear of Suzuki having many problems and my dad did not want all the grease gun work I have. The 400 Kodiak was our next choice.
