Hi all I am considering a new quad I am leaning toward the sportsman 400 or 500 and would like to here both the good and bad thoughts from all of you who have one or have had in the past. Thanks in advance for your help. jdman

 

I prefer the 5 over the 4 because of the extra power, the sound, and it just felt better to ride even though they are physicaly about the same. When I would go from my 5 to my gf's 4 there was a pretty big change to me.

 

they are pretty much the same but i also heard there was a big power differnece between the 4and 5.

 

500 for sure. More power and EBS. We have owned five as a family and all have been excellent machines. You will be pleased with the 500.

 

I just bought the 400 04.5. I chose it over the 500 because of gas mileage. In northern Ontario we pay big bucks for fuel, I figured the 425cc to the 499cc would be worth the compromise. Just dig my bike though. I go fast enough and I haven't finished breaking it in yet.

Yeah..those quads REALLY fit into his choice of the 400 or 500 sportsman..hell why not just buy a jet-ski..that way you can go in water too!

 

Maybe it was TRX450 Foreman? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] You know - - the one that eats rings with the slightest amount of water or mud in the engine??

The 500 is the way to go.
