I've never felt my Rancher AT shift at all when in the automatic mode - just push on the gas and it goes and goes. Very reliable - when using the ESP you can tell the shifting quite a bit. I feel the auto mode feels seamless, no pause or no sensation that gears are shifting. Maybe I haven't rode it enough.
