What is the best technique used to apply new decals. I have no idea how to put these things on w/out getting 1000 air bubbles under the decal. I had no problem w/ spraying them of though...LOL...

Clean the area with alcohol. Start with largest part of decal and work one direction towards smaller end. Rub with a wet cloth.

Spray the area with glass cleaner, Windex or some other spray. Remove the backing on the decal and place in postion. You can move the decal around until you get them in position and then use a squiggie, like a piece of card board and remove the air bubbles. When the glass cleaner evaporates the decals will adhere to the surface. I know this sounds like a strange way of doing it so start with something small and easy and you will see how neat it works. The best method for applying decals is as follows:
1- Get a clean pail of warm water.
2- Add one drop of liquid dish soap.
3- Peel the backing off the decal.
4- Submerge the decal in the pail of water.
5- Place the wetted decal on the surface where you wish it to be.
6- Use a rubber squeegy and soft cloth to squeegy the water out from under the decal.

The drop of soap in the water breaks the surface tension of the water, allows you to slide the decal around to place it properly and helps keep out air bubbles. Body shops use this method to apply large decals on cars and trucks.

The Glass Cleaner trick works very well ChopperBill, but you must be careful which glass cleaner you use. If there is Ammonia in the cleaner it will deteriorate the glue on the back of the decal causing premature pealing.
