no spark on sportsman 600
#1
Was riding a couple weeks ago at Hatfield McCoy trails. Group of us palayed in mud pit and proceeded to another trail. We rode on hard surface road for 5-7 miles. After making a turn on another road, I noticed my temp light flashing. I road another 1/4 mile to find a safe spot to pull over, machine was sputtering, and I shut it off. I checked in front of radiator and wha-la, mud caked in front. A shop across the street offered their power washer to clean the mud off, but my 600 wouldn't start, so we pushed it over. I cleaned the mud off, went to start it, it fired once and then no start, checked spark with extra (new) spark plug and no spark.
So far I tried: 1- different coil/cdi - nothing
2- new plugs - nothing
3- disconnecting black wire to cdi - nothing
4- new stator - nothing
I am out of options and getting really frustrated, any suggestions. It's a 2003 Sportsman 600 with 108 hours and 630 miles. This is the first ever problem eith this machine.
