it involves having a switch that turns your spark plugs off and a spark plug constantly running at the end of your pipe

you can buy a kit that pumps propane in the exhaust and has the ignitor, coil and switch or you can make your own from an old coil, spark plug and switch. the plug needs to be around 10" from the end of the pipe and i don't know if you will have enough pipe length for that? most of the kits just richen your fuel and thats makes the motor dump some unburnt fuel into the exhaust. the older carb cars just had to rev the motor several times and it would put enough fuel in the exhaust for the plug to fire it up. make sure it's not close to you though because i have seen them burn some nice paint jobs and could imagine what it would do to a leg.

my friend had n 87 plymouth voyager we were screwing around with and put flame throwing exhaust on it. it was a hack job, but it worked and thats what matters first we put a spark plug in the exhaust. to fire the plug, you need a coil and a pulsed voltage. you could obviosly buy something to do this, but that was out of our $0 budget so we had to make do with what was available. a 12 volt to 120 volt power inverter was used to make 120 volt A/C current. a transformer was plugged in to this to bring the voltage back down to 12 volts. This is 12 volts AC. an old spark coil was connected to this transformer. the coil was then connected to the spark plug. then we took the gas hoses and regualator off of an old grill we found on the side of the road. attached the regulator to a propane tank from my grill. extended the hose to reach into the exhaust at a place upstream of the spark plug.

at first this didn't work that great because there wasn't enough gas. because the regulator was very old we were able to adjust it to get more gas. Most of the new regulators are not adjustable. after some fine tuning, the system worked awsome. unfortunately all of the crap needed to make this works was very big. fortunatly, our project vehicle had a lot of space in the back for equiptment. If you want it to fit on a quad and look good, youll need to buy a kit.

You can try a rev limiter box in conjunction with a kill switch. They are readily available for your application. Check with the dealer... Basically, rev the motor unitl the rev limiter kicks in, and once is kicks in hit the kill switch off and on... it starts throwing fire ***** and pops real loud. when you let off the kill switch....sounds like the motor is exploding, but it doesn't hurt it. All it does is cause a lot of raw fuel to get in teh pipes, and once you release the kil switch, pow it ignites and throws a fireball out. The rev limiter is used so you don't over rev the motor while you play.

I use this method to scare off any nosey cop who wants to look in my pipes to see if I have modified the mufflers... It usually is good for a few singed eyebrows... Hey, at least if I get a ticket, I know the guy won't be looking at somebody else for a while...
