Default Tires for Blaster

I have been looking for some new rear tires for my 2000 blaster. I ride trails, like at chadwick. I want at least a 4 ply rating. Also, last time I went, I had some clearance problems even with 21" balloon tires. Would a set of 22" rears be too much for the blaster to handle and will they fit o.k? I want to get 21's 22's cause I know I'll lose some clearance cause I want square profile tires. I think I've narrowed it down to either 22x10x8 Bandits, 22x11x8 Fast Trekkers, or 21x12x8 Mud sharks. I'm leaning towards the mud sharks cause they're only $45 at rocky mountain, the bandits are $55, and the trekkers are only $35, but I'm afraid they'll be prone to puctures. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the trekkers puncturing. My cousin has a set on his three wheeler and they are ancient!!!(when the didnt have lugs in the middle!!) He has never had to touch them with an air hose, let alone a repair kit, and they still have very aggresive tread.

But if it were me, first choice would be the Sur traks. Ive only herd good things about them.

good luck

Is your axle stock width? because i got a set of 20-11-8 tires for my 03 and they rub the heel guards when i turn sharp or power-slide. so id check the clearence for the heel guards if your getting 11's or wider. jmo trying to help. and its a good idea to go with 21 or 22 inch tall, because the 20's on mine only leave a little bit of ground clearence.

i have a set of 22's and they roll fine..i put wheel spacers on though to widen up the rear...realy i dont see why it would rub-do you put alot of air in the tire's?the only problem with the blaster goin threw the mud is that it spins realy fast so you realy have no tourqe...i used wide all terrain tires on my 89'blaster and it would still spin the heck out of them, lol but its kinda all out racing..but right now i think the best "ALL TERRAIN TIRE" for the blaster's would probably be the maxxis razrs cause they give you more off the line traction, but the effect of that is you lose alittle top end and G.C. because of the smaller tire's,but i can live with that!im probably losing most of my aftermarket power cause of wheelspin but its funner when you can sit their and smoke the tires through the first couple of gears...cause truthfully i realy dont care about racing quads all that much,i thinks its better to just go out and enjoy your self and not worry about traction,tourqe,etc...
