Your bike puts out about 12hp stock. His bike puts out about 15hp stock. Call TC Racing, they have made 250x's into 400+ cc - 60+ hp bikes! Remember, Your mods will be expensive, Whereas his will be very cheap so be prepared to out-spend him.

dont be affraid to rev the pi$$ out of your 250. Back when I was in the 8th grade I was rideing a XR250R and my friend beat me on a XR80R revved to the moon on tight trails (because i was to small for the bike)Things to try that may get more throttle responce
1. remove airbox cover
2. remove exahust baffel
3. get a tooth larger rear sprocket
if none of that works, do what the TRX440 said then your friend will be dead meat. ( I too was amazed how fast the blaster was when i first rode with one, amazing torque for a 2 stroker)

this is strange to me because before I got my 250r I had a ported blaster it also had boyeson reeds and DG pipe and silencer it had 22 inch tall dirtdogs on the back I have a stock 97 300ex and we race up a hill that allows U to have both machines well topped out and they would be side by side all the way. if U want to beat your buddy get a header, silencer, revbox, cam. then U should be able yto beat your pal.
