Are these speeds possible?

I calculated how fast my '86 fourtrax 250 could go. However, I think I started measuring wrong somewhere.
This is what I did. I decided to see how long a stretch was and I decided to start counting from a birch tree to a trail. I measured it at 600 metres. So what I did today, I held a digital watch in my hand and I drove by the birch tree at full speed, covering the 600M in 40 some seconds. It was around 40 seconds I know that for sure. I ended up with 72KM/H as my final answer. I feel that this speed is much too high for a 250 trx and am asking you guys what you think of it.
Also, my friend did it later on with his 400ex and the final answer came out to be 113KM/H. I think I began timing wrong...

actually you are wrong. saying you were full speed when you passed the tree till the trail. and it is 600 metres long. if it takes you 40 seconds to travel that distance that means you are traveling at 15 metres per second. now to convert metres per second to kilometres per hour just multiply your speed (m/s) by 3.6. yes this is a real conversion. now that equals 54 km/h or 34 mph.
velocity=distance/time
velocity=600 metres/40 seconds
velocity=15 m/s
km/h=15 m/s * 3600 seconds /1000 metres
km/h=54
velocity=distance/time
velocity=600 metres/40 seconds
velocity=15 m/s
km/h=15 m/s * 3600 seconds /1000 metres
km/h=54

It's the utility 250. I'm thinking I overestimated. I think it should be more around 65KM/H.

*gone for a few minutes**
Okay, I was waaaay off. I covered it in 27seconds which gives me 22m/s and that's 79200m/h which translates into 79.2KM/H. I will have to remeasure the distance I think. That was the main problem IMO.

that sounds more realistic. cause 54 km/h is slow. and believe it or not that number is more accurate than by going by some speedo's. and the 400 ex does go about 113 km/h so it is pretty accurate

113 KM/H is 69.75 MPH...or 70MPH.
