ok i was out at glamis last weekend and my bike was running fine i went for a ride stoped for a break and bike would not start again put in a new spark plug checked wire connections and now there is no spark.
My brother has the same bike so we changed out some parts the cdi box the ignition coil and it still has weak or no spark. what could be wrong.
its a 1986 250r

If Im not mistaken there is a magnet inside where the coil is you need to make sure it is the proper distance between the magnet and the outer coil and make sure the surface of the coil is clean between the magnet and coil.there is a adjustment in there with two bolts. Also trace the wires coming out of the coil all the way to see if maybe they might be fraid somewhere. Good luck.

If its not the coil and its not the CDI, try using his plug wire and cap. Pull the plastic off and check all the connections. If it is the stator the bike will do some mighty funny things like run great then not run at all, off and on etc. What year 250R does your brother have, his CDI box may not work on yours.
You did take the flywheel and stator off the bike right? if not it could be a sheared key-way too. Sounds like a stator problem to me, been there done that................
