Just a wild thought fellows today while checking a few things on my Sportsman noticed it has a little round emblem celebrateing 45 years it reads something like Polaris for 45 years and then displays 1954 to 1999 so if mine is a 2000 model why would this be on it does any of you other guys with 2000 models or 99 models have this can you see what I am getting at the build date on mine is 8-99 so was I sold a 99 for a 2000 model what do you guys think on this theory of thinking I just can't understand how a 2000 model bike would have an emblem on it celebrating 1999 I have never seen this on any other vehicle I have seen for instance on the 40 the anniversy vet which is the 93 model that would like be buying the 94 model vet with these emblems on it so do you see where I am going with this anybody with a 99 or 00 let me know if yours has this emblem...

My Magnum, which I bought this January, also has that emblem. But it is a 2000 model - the 1999 line-up of models didn't include the 325 Magnum 2x4. Like cars, model years are usually a bit ahead of their time. One or two months from now some of the 2001 models will be probably on sale...

PPin are you sure on that one what makes you thing that like me you were sold a 99 model for a 2000 model I just can't see why a 2000 model would have an emblem on it celebrating 45 years it just doesn't make sense. I realize that most products are made the previous year such as in cars but not with the emblem on them you can't buy a 94 vet with a 40th anniversary emblem on it.
So have any of you out there got a 2000 model without the emblem just would like to know...

It's kinda like buying a car or truck. How can Chevy, Ford, Nissan, etc sell a 2000 model in late 99. Model years are usually made and sold about a 3 to 4 months prior to that year. Like when this fall rolls around 2001 models will be available. The commerative emblem probably has to do with manufacturing years not model years.

that seems sensible mds but you would think they would take the emblems off for the 2000 model years does it make sense to keep putting them, do you think they will be on the 2001 models??? I have just never seen this done in any other kind of industry usually emblems like this are put on one year solely like the vet, oh well just a thought man can't you tell its raining out with questions like this hehehe

Don't know about the quad's sticker or mfg dates but,
I have a 2000 45th anniversary XC700 deluxe snowmobile that I bought in June of 1999 and it has the emblem. The MFG date is 03/07/99 also had a 1990 that had a 35th anniversary emblem.
So they must be going on the snowmobile dates which is a year ahead of quads and bikes.
To anwser ATVING, No they will not put the emblem on the 2001's if Polaris follows suit with what they've been doing on the sleds for the past 46 years,Because in the sled world it's 2001 already.
