Tires for Sportman 600
#1
Could someone let me know what the largest tire you can put on this quad without a lift or rim replacement? This is my brothers quad and he wants to put some ITP 589's on it.
Thanks

First , you must remember that all 4 tires must be the same height. 25,26,27,etc.
Second , I just put titan 589 MT/AT on my 03 600 sportsman.
Rears are 26x12x12 and have no clearence problems.
Fronts are 26x9x12 and i had to put flat washers of "EQUAL " size on all the wheel studs and then put the rim on. This allows clearence between the tire and tie rod end. Otherwise it will rub and destroy the tie rods !
When you order 25 inch tall tires , the lug depth is not as deep. Order 26 inch or taller tire
and you will get the deeper lugs.
My third opinion is , if you go taller than 26 inch , the tires on the front will rub on the front fender and fender extension twords the rear by the foward part of the footwell.
I got my titan 589 AT/MT tires from nebraskatire.com. They are cosmetic blems . The web site says $45.00 each. My dad picked them up in person and they were only $ 35.00 each for any size tire ! They are 6 ply. Almost 2 inch tall lugs. The titan name had been groud off the side wall because of franchise rights. The rim sits in the bead about 1/2 inch to protect the rim from dings.
The tires are very nice and cheap ! $ 140.00 for 4 tires.
Hope this helps out.

I forgot to mention. My titan 589 AT/MT tires are blems and are mounted on STOCK RIMS.
Also, with the 27 and 28 inch tall tires, if you have weight on the front of the machine such as a load on the front rack or a plow set up , this will cause aditional clearence problems.
