03 rubicon drive train trouble???????????

grinding noise 03rubicon
I have a 03 rubi with only 600km , when engine braking on steep incline it makes a horrible grinding sound
as though some gears were not lining up properly. anyone have similar problem or advice. I was towing some
fire wood uphill , when the tires started to spin the drive train made a popping sound .Could it be possible
one of the diff's skipped a tooth
