i have lost the key to my 1996 TRX300FW and now i need to find out if ther is any way to hotwire or
bypass the igntion switch.. any info on how i can start it without the key. please let me know.

 

i dont know, maybe if you call the dealer, and give your Vin, they might be able to make you a new key

just watch out, and be ready to prove your ownership, im sure they get alot of "lost keys"

 

I'm not sure on these newer atv's...but usually if you unplug the ignition it will start right up.

 

i don't know about the 4x4's, but on the 300ex you can just plug the two wires together that go to the switch. the electrical system will be powered all the time though.

Tdevil, I'm not accusing you of anything, but as was earlier stated, it's as easy as taking your quad's Vehical Identification Number (VIN) off the frame and heading to your local dealer. Quick and simple, then your quad is protected from anyone just jumping on and ridding away.
